They took me out of lessons for special counciling which just made me feel worse then when i went in. Even if I skipped almost every class I had and didn't come to school for weeks, they still gave me good grades. I guess it's because I was suicidal and tought I failed at life my teachers gave me good grades when I was diagnosed with depression. In that way your teachers should treat you differently - so that it "levels the playing field" for you in a way that is fair to both you and the other students. Examples might be: Taking tests without being timed. Rather than giving an oral report infront of the entire class, you may be able to read your report aloud to just the teacher, etc. The advantage of going through the counseling office, is that the teachers are held accountable, and are required to make reasonable adjustments on your behalf. -- If they don't, they can be subject to discipline.
